4 Days Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour itinerary:

DAY 1 : MARRAKECH / KASBAH AIT BENHADDOU / OUARZAZATE / VALLE OF THE ROSES / DADES GORGE :

Your English-speaking driver will pick you up at your hotel and transport you from Marrakech to the Valley of the Roses. Before reaching Ait Benhaddou, go across the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi -n-Tichka pass and take in some of Morocco’s most breathtaking mountain views. Spend some time touring Ait Behaddou, one of the Atlas Region’s most unusual and well-preserved Kasbahs.

The Kasbah, which is currently protected by UNESCO, offers stunning views of the surrounding palmerie and beyond. From Ait Benhaddou, travel to Ouarzazate, which is home to Morocco’s “Hollywood” film industry. While there, stop by the film studios to witness where movies like Gladiator and the Mummy were made.

Visit Kasbah Taourirt, which used to be one of the region’s largest Kasbahs and was originally inhabited by members of the Glaoui Dynasty that governed the area, and explore the city. This Kasbah has undergone meticulous restoration by UNESCO, and it is perhaps the largest tourist attraction in Ouarzazate. Travel from Ouarzazate through the lovely La Palmarie Skoura and Valley of the Roses before arriving in Tinehir, the Dades Gorges, your final stop for the evening.

DAY 2 : DADES GORGE / TODRA GORGE / TINEHIR / MERZOUGA :

depart for the Sahara from Dades Gorges. Before arriving at Merzouga and the Sahara Desert, explore the amazing rock at Todra Gorge and Tinehir. Afternoon: We meet your nomadic guide, who will lead you on  1.5 hour camel ride into the desert. As your guide sets up your bivouac, you can unwind, climb some dunes, or simply stare at the stars.

DAY 3 : MERZOUGA / ERG CHEBBI ( SAHARA DESERT) :

Some of the dunes in this region reach heights of over 245 meters, and Erg Chebbi is the sizable sand sea that serves as the literal beginning of the Sahara. The sun’s hues as they rise and set over these dunes create a wonderfully magnificent scene.

Prior to being picked up by your driver to meet your camels and guide, take advantage of a relaxing morning. After riding a camel for between one and two hours, your guide will lead you into the desert. When you arrive at your bivouac, you may unwind, climb the dunes, or simply enjoy the stars while your guide gets ready for dinner.

DAY 4 : MERZOUGA / ZIZ VALLEYS / MIDELT / AZROU / FEZ :

After spending the night among the dunes, return to the riad for breakfast and to get ready before continuing on to Fez. Travel via the Efous Oasis and the Ziz Valley on your route for breathtaking views of these amazing rock formations.
