Day 1: Errachidia airport – Merzouga desert

Since most flights into Moulay Ali Cherif Airport in Errachidia come at night and stay overnight at hotels in Merzouga, your three-day trip from Errachidia to Fez will begin with your driver from Merzouga Tours picking you up. You will then go straight to Merzouga.

Day 2: Explore Merzouga area – Erg Chebbi – Camel Trek and Night at Desert Camp

We will begin our Merzouga 4×4 excursion after breakfast at your hotel, exploring various and interesting sites around the Erg Chebbi dunes. We will visit Hassi Labied oasis to see its irrigation canal and land agriculture, then head south to the seasonal Sriji lake (if there is water in it). If you are interested in listening to the Gnawa music of the dark-skinned people who were brought to Morocco as immigrants over a century ago and were working as slaves, we will continue to Khamlia village.

After that, we’ll proceed to the M’ifis mines. Also, the Merzouga desert is well-known for its minerals and fossils, which attract tourists. A nomadic Berber family that is still living in their tent in the midst of the Sahara will be our next stop on our Merzouga 4×4 desert trip. We’ll enjoy a drink of mint tea with them and learn about their way of life. We’ll pause at several sweeping viewpoints to soak in the landscape and snap photos of the sights.

We’ll return to the village after lunch at a local restaurant. From there, you’ll go camel trekking to our Berber Camp in Merzouga. The camel ride takes one to one and a half hours, with a break to watch the sunset atop the dunes. If you’re interested, you can also try sandboarding. After this breathtaking moment, you’ll continue to the camp, where you’ll be greeted with a glass of tea and given time to relax until dinner. After dinner, there will be traditional Berber drumming music, you can enjoy the starry sky, and sleep beneath a nomadic tent.

Day 3: Erg Chebbi dunes – Ziz Valley – Middle atlas – Cedar forest – Ifrane – Fes

After enjoying a delectable breakfast and a shower at the camp on the third day, you will ride the camels back to the starting point or, if you’d prefer, we can transport you to a 4WD vehicle. This will all happen as you watch the dawn over the dune next to the camp.

From here, we’ll continue toward Fes by way of the second-longest river in Morocco, the Ziz Valley; we’ll also cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views; we’ll have free time to eat lunch at a restaurant; and in the afternoon, we’ll continue on toward Fes, stopping at the Cedar Forest in Azrou to see the wild monkeys and take a quick stroll through the forest to take pictures.

We’ll make a detour in Ifrane, Morocco’s version of Switzerland, before arriving in Fes late in the afternoon, where we’ll drop you off at your hotel and conclude our 3-day tour from Errachidia to Fez.
