4 days desert tour from Fes to Marrakech itinerary:

Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest- Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga

Your driver will pick you up from your Fes riad/hotel at 8:00 a.m. and take you to Merzouga, where the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi are located. 

An 8-hour trek through the Atlas Mountains to Tafilalet, southern Morocco’s largest oasis, comprising of several villages, palm groves, and two significant Desert cities, Erfoud and Rissani.

We will make several stops along the way, including the alpine village of Ifrane, Azrou cedar forest, where the monkeys may be seen, Midelt for lunch, and Ziz valley, 

which offers panoramic and stunning views of the palm trees and the green valley in the heart of the Desert.

Next we’ll go to the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. We go deeper into the desert scenery till the dunes appear in the midst of nowhere. Overnight Camel Trip at a Berber tented camp.

Day 2: Sahara Desert Sightseeing - Camel ride - Camp

After breakfast, the camels returned to the dune line hotel for a short shower. We leave the Erg Chebbi Sahara desert dunes and have an off-road drive over the hamada (black Desert) to Rissani, where we may visit the lively local market.

Following that, we go north to Erfoud, which is famed for its fossils; here, we may stop to see a fossil workshop before continuing to the magnificent Todra canyons, which are known for rock climbing, and where we can trek before checking into the hotel. Dinner and a night’s sleep

Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley

 breakfast at the hotel, we continue our journey down the 1000 Thousand Kasbahs Road, which has magnificent kasbahs on both sides of the road.

Some of the old fortified homes have been repaired, although many remain in ruins. We pass through Dades valley and ascend to the mountainous area via an off-road trail where many Berber villages and a few nomads live in caves here,

we will have the opportunity to visit one of these families and learn about their daily lives and main activity of “looking after herds of goats & cheap”.

Before reaching the Skoura palm grove, we will be astonished by the panoramas of the beautiful rose valley. 45 kilometers later, we arrive in Ouarzazate for supper and sleep at the hotel

Day 4: Dades Valley - Rose Town - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

Following breakfast, we may have a tour to film sets & studios located in Ouarzazate which is regarded as Hollywood of Africa.

Following that, we will visit Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.

Ait Benhaddou is a World Heritage monument that has been used as a setting for more than 20 films including “Gladiator” “Indiana Jones” and “Lawrence of Arabia”.

Take a walk to learn about the traditional Moroccan architecture used to construct the Kasbahs. We proceed to Marrakesh over the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi n’Tichka crossing.

Lunch will be served in the Atlas Mountains. Drop off at your Riad/Hotel in Marrakech.
